Y10 Pastoral Programme Overview

Year 10 is a vital year for our pupils as it is the final step before they enter Key Stage 3 and all its attendant challenges. The following provides a flavour of what is covered in the Pastoral Programme in this pivotal year:

  • On-line Safety
  • Anti-Bullying
  • Thinking of others
  • Responsibility
  • Alcohol awareness
  • Democracy and citizenship
  • Preparing for GCSE
  • Good Mental Health

In this academic year, a focus on online support had been added to the Pastoral Programme to provide a link between pupils and staff for when pupils were not in the school building. This action also assisted pupil transition to online learning.

Sponsored Walk

Our students always enjoy our annual sponsored walk and participate with great enthusiasm. It is a great opportunity to raise funds for our Sister School in South Africa.

Christmas Charities

Year 10 students enjoy organising fundraising activities such as bake sales, raffles and games. This year students enjoyed a ‘Movie Day’ which raised much needed funds for our sister school in South Africa, and the Daisy Lodge Cancer Fund for Children in Northern Ireland.

School Council Representative

Kayley (10B) is our student council representative this year! She plays an important role representing the student voice in our year group.

Extra Curriculars

Extra-Curriculars!

Year 10 Students enjoy developing their talents through our many sports teams, musical groups and drama opportunities. Additionally, well-earned treats in school such as a visit from the Ice-Cream Van, Ceili Dances and Christmas Dinners are always well received!
