Overview

Final year students in Assumption are our standard bearers, they lead by their example, serving the whole school through both the Senior Prefect Team and the many Prefects in both pastoral and academic roles throughout the school.

Year 14 brings many demands but also many memorable moments for the students. Our final Sponsored Walk, our final Christmas Dinner together and the Christmas Charities, which allow students to show care for the older generation in the local area.

We seek to work with the students to develop fully a sense of responsibility and care for others. There are many opportunities for service and for extending themselves in this last year at school. Our aim is that they may be fully prepared for life after school through their experiences, particularly in Year 14.

Our pastoral programme is centred on practical tips for life, whether it be in University or in the world of employment. It covers a broad range of topics from safe driving to registering to vote, and from university life to coping with stress by protecting and enhancing our mental health.

Students are encouraged and supported to become more responsible for their own choices, more independent in their studies and more confident in setting and achieving their goals.

Many life long friendships have been well can truly cemented before our Year 14 students leave us in the summer term, but they know, as we do, that they will always be welcome in and belong to the family that is Assumption.

Pupils in Year 14 can keep in touch and access important messages through the dedicated Twitter page. This has been a great method of communication during periods of remote learning.
